In the Twi language, Obiaa is a word which means ‘all’, or ‘everybody’, and this is reflected in every aspect of Boateng’s works. The representation of varied art and culture within our clothing is a message we are more than proud of, and continue to be.

True to our motto, ‘Making Ankara Accessible To All’ is our mission.  It is important to understand, therefore, that Ankara (also known as African/Dutch wax print), is more than just a fabric. Durable, comfortable, and versatile, Ankara has a rich history of its own.

Once used as a form of storytelling, and a documentation of tradition, each pattern has values of its own deep rooted in African culture. It is OBIAA’s wish to honour, and celebrate this.
